What is the difference between a Subscription and One-Time gift?

If you choose "Gift a gift" on the homepage, you'll have the choice to give either a recurring, renewing subscription gift, or a one-time gift.

If you choose the subscription option, you are gifting a renewing subscription, which will auto-renew with the frequency you chose (monthly, every 3 months, every 6 months, or every 12 months). When choosing to gift a subscription, you (as the account creator and owner of the billing information, manage the account and will receive shipping notification to the account email address. 

If you choose the one-time gift option, you are giving a one-time gift for the duration that you chose (1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months) and it will not renew.

You can choose to either:
1) enter the recipient's shipping address at checkout (if you choose this option, there's an optional space for the recipient's email address to send them an email notifying them of this gift. They will also receive an email each time a box is shipped with the shipment tracking number. You, as the account creator, will receive shipping notifications if you don't enter the recipient's email), or
2) check the box (under recipient's name) to "Let the recipient add their own shipping address," and they will be prompted to do so in their gift notification email that will be sent on the date you specify.
Either way, you will add your billing zipcode with the payment information.

When choosing to gift Bookroo, you can also choose to "ship the first box to you to give in person" by checking the box at the bottom of the page (under the gift message section). 

If you want to send a gift note, you may add one in the "gift message" slot at the bottom of the checkout page (50 characters max). This will appear on the box's label, as well as in the gift recipient email, if an email was provided.

Choosing to send either type of gift allows you to enter your recipient's shipping address directly and get boxes headed to your recipient right away, without waiting for them to claim it!
